For the past few weeks I’ve had some health-related problems that have been leaving me in various amounts of pain. Thankfully, I found out the cause is not as serious as it could have been, but I’ve still been hurting some so who knows what’s next.
Model horses have been a good distraction from all that, luckily. I spent the weekend working on some commissions, ranging from saddlebags…
…to boots.
I’ve also been piecing together my next Arabian costume.
I’ve decided to try another sculpted seat again, made out of Crayola’s Model Magic. I thought you might like to see it in it’s ugly stage, and believe me, it’s ugly:
I like how this clay (if you can even call it that… it almost has the consistency of a marshmallow… but not sticky) air dries and remains flexible. It’s easy enough to use, but it can be really difficult to smooth out. As long as I can get a decent shape, being perfectly smooth doesn’t matter too much as it will be trimmed and covered with fabric.
Well, if I decide to keep this one, that is. I always struggle with these things so we’ll see!
sorry you’re not feeling well. the new projects look great tho!
Wow, really sorry to hear about the health problems.
Hope you & the doctors got things sorted out and you’ll soon be pain free.
Here are some Feel Better {{hugs}}…
Thanks. 🙂 I have been feeling a bit better and at the moment all is resolved, but it’s one of those time-will-tell things.
*sends healing vibes*
You’ve really got a knack for those saddlebags – they look great!
