I felt super-motivated to start the new year. We’re two weeks in already and everything’s gone quiet on my blog. Ok not really but I always feel that way when I don’t post for a couple of weeks. This happened last year too, what gives?

Even though it’s been kind of quiet I am working on new stuff. Mostly, I’m trying to get ready for Breyerwest because HEYYY six months has magically turned into two-ish! WHAT HAPPENED. This doesn’t really surprise me BUT STILL.

(I blame everything on my job)

I have been participating in a January photo challenge on Facebook/Instagram, which has been fun and given me something to post when there hasn’t been anything else ready to share yet.

Aside from that, I’ve been re-working ribbon rosettes. These were inspired by NAN and Breyerfest:

My desk is a ribbon factory at the moment…

I really want to remake a full set like this, just need to make time!

A secret project got put together…

As well as some other things…

Magical prints… and plaid for the Muggles 😛

I got all giddy over Breyer’s website update the other day:

I will not stop being excited over this #sorrynotsorry

And Leah (who is awesome) of Shoestring Stable surprised me with a NIB Justify, which was super sweet and very generous of her. Thanks again, Leah!

Squee!

Breyerwest really is my main focus right now, (I’m not quite in panic mode but almost) so things will probably continue to be quiet around here. We’ll see!

Is that it? I think that’s it. Back to work.

After feeling stuck for ages, something’s switched and I’m now in “sew EVERYTHING” mode. Maybe I’m trying to make up for lost time or maybe I’m just crazy. (it’s probably both)

One thing I DO know is that I’ve been feeling better than I have felt in weeks/months, which is helping so much. I keep thinking… what about tomorrow? What about next week? But there’s also this reminder to just take one day at a time.

Anyway. Pony clothes!

All of these, when finished (no I don’t know when that will be) will be listed to my Etsy shop. I never intended to have a space/star theme… it just sort of happened so I’ve kept going with it.

I’ve had a lot of interest in galaxy print blankets, so I’m trying to include multiples in various prints I’ve collected.

I’ve also got one in a northern lights print.

Fun fact: the constellation print glows in the dark. 😛

I’m also hoping to get this group of Trek inspired english pads finished up. They have been sitting on my desk for months, but if I can finish them I’ll try and include them because SPACE.

(how many years has it been since I made the first ones??)

Like I said I don’t know when these will be ready for sale. (and no, I won’t take pre-sales or holds, sorry) I AM looking for some feedback though.

Do you prefer to have a set date & time for new listings? OR do you prefer something more random?

Lately I’ve announced a day but not a set time. I feel that both have upset people and I have to continually remind myself that I can’t please everybody, but if there’s a strong preference for one over the other it might help a bit.

Another idea is eBay auctions… I’d rather not go that route BUT if you have any feedback on that I’d love to hear it as well.

February’s over already… wait what?

I never made time to work on this month’s tack project, which annoys me, but I’m trying not to be too hard on myself because I’ve been working (and completing!) many sewing projects, mostly for the shop.

Here’s one of two blankets I finished. Adding a neck hood was a spur of the moment idea and I’m really happy with the result. I haven’t worked out a pattern for a full hood yet, but I’m sure I will eventually.

I mentioned draft sized blankets a while back, which I am working on… I’m just waiting on hardware at the moment! In the meantime my poor FVO is practically buried with in-progress saddle pads. There are blanket pieces piled on there somewhere too.

“Help me…”

A couple weeks back I received some new galaxy print fabric. (I’m always on the lookout for it, what can I say??) I’m so in love with this one and want to make galaxy patterned EVERYTHING… so far I have a couple English pads plus a cut back western one. (still in progress) There will definitely be some in my Etsy shop in the near future. (along with half a dozen other novelty-patterned pads)

My blog also reached a new milestone this month: 500,000/half a million views! I know, I know, numbers really aren’t important but I’m still excited to see that I’ve reached 500k. XD

And last but not least, Desktop Stables has an Instagram account, which I’ve been having fun messing about with. After refusing to upgrade my basic “dumb” phone for years, I’ve finally made the switch to a smartphone. I’m slightly irritated with myself for how much I like it already. 😛

I think that’s it for now… yay for a boring catch up post! Here’s hoping March goes well…
