Saddlebags

This week I made some saddlebags, designed to fit on the back of a western saddle.

Most I’ve seen have eyelets that the saddle strings go through. I improvised with dee rings, so the bags could be attached to a saddle, if you have one with long strings. My saddle doesn’t, and I’m not sure how much it matters in model scale, but faux strings could be tied on if needed.

The pouches are quite roomy (well, in this size…) and close with velcro.

I will admit that part of the fun in making this was coming up with all the things to stick inside of it:

There are nine pieces total, including a tiny peanut butter sandwich.

Saddlebags03This set will be for sale if there is an interest? I could be talked into making more in different colors too… 😉

Saddlebags01At the moment I’m not sure what to ask for it, so I’ll be giving that some thought. I am leaving this Saturday for CA so all my sales items will be on hold/pulled for a couple weeks anyway. 🙂

In other news… school’s done for the semester! I have one more class to take before I graduate this August. Then…??? I’m hoping for some big changes but life tends to have other ideas. We’ll see!

  1. These are so neat! Too bad I’m pretty sure both my western saddles don’t have the strings. All the wee filler items are too cute aswell, especially that sandwich!!
