New Breyer Releases

On Friday, the new 2024 Breyer releases were finally revealed. My personal favorite is Atlanta, but I’m liking Cossaco too. ❤

Two reveals I’m especially excited about. One is the updated feed set. Breyer contacted me about creating the prototypes for the feed and hay bags:

I created the pattern for the feed bag, but not the artwork/graphic design. The hay bag is a slightly altered pattern of the free hay bag tutorial I have available here: https://desktopstables.com/2017/10/08/tutorial-hay-bags/
I did mention this pattern and tutorial to Breyer beforehand.

I feel like I also have to mention that most of the model horse hay bags you see for sale on Etsy are based off of this free pattern. While I did offer permission to sell finished pieces on the pattern, I naively didn’t expect them to pop up everywhere. I just wanted to offer a free, DIY project for other hobbyists. I don’t mind that people sell them, but it can hurt when no credit is given. That’s on me though. Lesson learned!
I’m happy that people enjoy them and am especially happy to have it appear in an accessory set for Breyer now!

Another reveal was the 2024 Holiday Horse, Apres Ski:

Like previous years, Breyer had me put together the prototype for his costume, based on their artwork and design. There were so many variations with the creation of this piece but I love how it came together in the end. Big Ben looks great in this color and I’m looking forward to adding him to my collection later on in the year!

Do you have a favorite of the new releases?

    1. I love the new holiday horse! Yet again you have managed to create an AMAZING costume 💜
It kinda sucks that people don’t give credit to you when they use your pattern. Is there any possibility of you giving us a printable of the pattern for the feed bag? 😉

  1. Wow! Thanks for the preview. Such detail in Breyer’s offerings these days! And it’s because of hobbyists such as yourself. // I am pounding the give-credit-where-due issue in my books. In my experience there are 2 kinds of hobbyists: those who give credit, and those who don’t. Guess which ones get chosen when it comes to deciding whether to do business between two otherwise-equal persons.
