Soo… this week has been rough. But I’ve been making more halters every day after work, since I’m apparently in one of my halter-making-moods. (they’re easy and fun to make, what can I say?)
There are more reflective halters:
Break-away halters:
A padded halter and a couple striped ones too:
The blue striped one is the one that started all this. I got distracted looking up tack ideas for my new Andalusian mare and stumbled across a photo of one in a pretty, blue-striped halter.
I couldn’t re-create it exactly, but this is still pretty close.
The padded halter looks ok on the horse…
But I think I need to re-work some things on it still.
In addition to all the halters, samples of my new fabric patterns arrived in the mail. I wasted no time in turning them into saddle pads.
They’re so TACKY, hahaha! 😀
My Etsy shop will be stocked with most (not all) of these items soon, so keep an eye out if you’re interested. 🙂
Beautiful! 🙂 A few quesstions: how did you make the striped halters, what is your Andulusian mare’s name, did you see my comment on your previous posst suggesting a yellow reflective halter, and could you shrink the Breyerfest progam again this year? Hope this is not to many questions! 😉
The striped halters are made from striped ribbon. And yes, I did! Yellow was definitely a color I wanted to make one in too. 🙂
The mare doesn’t have a name yet… I wanted something Spanish but I keep leaning towards “Nenya” instead, which is one of the three Elven rings in Tolkien’s writings. ^_^
As for the BF program, I’m not sure. It hasn’t been released yet!
I love Tolkien’s books! If your looking for name suggestions for your Andulusian, I just looked up flower in Spanish, it’s Flor, so… But, if you want, I have a whole gigantic list of horse names in a file I made; so if you would like, I can make a post with the link for it on my blog?
I have a whole list of horse names in a Word document that I made one time. Do you want me to put it in a post???
If you would like to, go ahead! 🙂
Okay, I will do that next. 🐎 🐴
It’s up now, if you can’t get to it from my comment, let me know!!! 😊
Nice! The blue looks great on the Andalusian, and I like the breakaway halters. ‘Nenya’ sounds like it has Spanish influence to me. 😀
I love the striped and breakaway halters! Their so pretty! Can’t wait till you put some in your Etsy shop.
where do you get the hardware you use for your saddles and halters and bridles?
I’m dying to make my own, but I’ve searched everywhere and can’t find any! Please help!
I buy it from Rio Rondo (riorondo.com) and The World of Model Horse Collecting (http://stores.ebay.com/The-World-of-Model-Horse-Collecting)
thx!
What kind of glue do you use?
Fabri-Tac is my favorite 🙂
