While I don’t particularly like posting sales-related stuff on my blog, this one’s a bit important so please bear with me.
First off, I’ve opened up an Etsy shop.
Right now it’s stocked with some saddle pads and a couple halters… and hopefully I’ll have more things to add to it as time goes on.
I’ve been a mix of excited and terrified and frustrated for a number of different reasons. Not many hobbyists have wandered over to sell on Etsy, and I know hobby-traffic is pretty non-existent over there, so I have no idea what will come of this. Only time will tell… so… we’ll see.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, or if you think any of my info needs to be clarified.
Also, with the opening of this shop comes the closing of my books for custom orders. (I’ve never thought of myself having “books” so that feels weird to say, haha)
This does NOT affect previously-agreed-upon orders that are currently in the works… just any new inquiries.
There are multiple reasons why I’m not going to be taking on any more right now, but I’d rather not go into details. I’d bore you all. (if I’m not already, ha!) If this etsy-thing works out ok, I might give requested orders a go, but like I said, we’ll see. 🙂

I sell stuff over etsy sometimes, and yeah, there isn’t much hobby traffic. I have sold both items that I have put up, but they sold after about 2-3 months after i listed them. Try putting stuff on etsy that there isn’t much of, like the saddle pads or other things. There are so many western bridles on there it is not funny.
Well she did sell 10 items in one day so I would say that’s successful.
Also those awesome beel boots you make would probably sell well as well.
I am a fan of etsy and always search for hobby stuff. Good luck with your sales! I just ordered the blue saddle pad.
Will you be offering classic scale pads at some point? 😀
I’d love to, and probably will order after breyerfest. Right now all my money is going to my savings for that. But after, i will most definitely order!
I think this is a great idea! Do you think you’ll sell a saddle pad and bell boots set? I think that would sell and I would like to buy it.
I was tinking about opening an etsy shop for quite some time now. I sell my stuff on Facebook and the german model horse forums, and sometimes it is frustrating to run after the money. Such a shop would eliminate that.
Good luck with your sales! Your western pads are great.
EEEKK! This makes me so happy. ^_^ But I can get some money in my empty Paypal so I can empty it again. 😉
Do you think you’ll be adding those wonderful saddlebags with the goodies inside since your commission books are closed? I’d love to be able to buy one in the future.
I am planning on it, so yes 🙂
Love it but when I went on it everything was sold out! Hopefully you’ll be adding more to it because I really want a saddle pad and set of saddlebags.
I love the idea! One day I’d love to have one of your saddle pads, and this must make it easier to process purchases. Good luck!
I would love to be alerted the next time you sell more too! So sad I missed these!!
I have email subscriptions set up for my blog if you’re interested- an email goes out every time I publish a post. I also cross-post things on my Facebook page, so either one would be a good way to be informed of anything new. 🙂
how much do they cost? I checked recently but they’re all sold; I would love to know how much a saddle pad is 🙂
The fleece-lined pads are $18 each, and the felt pads are $16 each 🙂
will definitely order @ some point for my traditional
