Slowly but surely!

Progress.

The edges have been smoothed down and burnished, and the pieces have all been covered with leather finish. I think with western saddles, more time is spent in the preparation of the pieces (carving, dyeing, finishing, etc) then actually putting the saddle together! All the extra time spent on those little details will show in the end though. It will be worth it! (I hope.)

How very exciting. I kind of wish I had a different color dye though… I think I’ll get a lighter shade for the next one.
