At the ranch I once rode at, there was a man who would show up every Saturday morning. He would saddle his appaloosa with a bareback pad and bridle, then disappear down one of the many trails at the riverbottom across the road. I never met him and never knew his name, but I remember his horse, an appaloosa mare who looked very much like the Appaloosa mold Breyer released.
In a way I was jealous, as I thought it would be incredibly fun to go trail riding every Saturday instead of going round and round and round in an arena. (though that was fun… and rather exciting sometimes, haha!)
